As war protesters standing for more than 12 years on Saturday mornings at South and Main, my colleagues and I are amazed that Donald Trump has done what we have been demonstrating for. But he has done it in the worst possible, destructive way.

Consulting with no one, understanding nothing about the Middle East region, refusing his own military and diplomatic advisers, he has left our Kurdish allies in the ditch to be killed. He gave Turkey permission to invade, then sent two flunkies to Turkey to cover himself.

Is he continuing to supply Turkey with military intelligence so they can more easily locate the Kurdish fighters and crush them more quickly?

For Cartoon Man this is more than ignorance, or presidential whim — this is a grotesque, deviant act to distort and prejudice his political base so they think such mindlessness is praiseworthy.

Obliterate some allies — he doesn’t know them. What’s the loss? As Cartoon Man has said “in my great and unmatched wisdom” he has degraded an American reputation of inestimable value — we will protect our friends.

No wonder he is a cartoon of a president.
